C and Visual C++ Application Development - Skills

• Primary Skills

  • These are the skills that I consider myself an expert at. I work fast and efficiently in these areas.

  • Application Development - By far my strongest skill is Application Development - from initial concept to ease of installation, support, and ongoing enhancement to keep ahead of the competition. My main product has been on the market for 29 years.
  • Tools - What I am naturally best at is the development of tools with which more elaborate applications are built and based upon.
  • Life Cycle - What I've learned to do well is develop applications that can grow safely and robustly over time. My primary application has been on the market for 29 years. If I want a reasonable sleep schedule, I need to do things in a way that prevents panicked phone calls in the middle of the night.
  • Telephone Systems - I am highly experienced in the interaction possible between telephone systems and computers. Though there's much more I could always learn in this area, I have worked extensively with about 50 different telephone systems and the formats that they provide data in.
  • Basic Windows Technologies - I am familiar and comfortable with MultiThreading, Comm Ports, Network Sockets, TAPI (modems), and all of the basic Windows technologies (custom and standard dialogs, menus, hot keys ...).

• Secondary Skills

  • These are the skills that I can do in a pinch, but don't consider myself an expert at. Though I can of course learn or get better at anything, you may be better served by a more experienced individual or company in these areas.

  • ActiveX\Com - I have spent much time on this and incorporated this technology freely in my applications. For some reason though, this represents a complex arena that I still only consider myself adequate in.
  • Advanced Networking - I have become very comfortable with basic network sockets programming. I have incorporated FTP, SFTP, and XML in my programming but consider myself only reasonably strong in these areas.
