Web Developer
-
Your Internet Presence - The best part of Web Development is that,
with a modest amount of effort,
you can give a person or entity a special and unique place on the world stage.
With some nice imagery and careful wording,
you can artistically present a person and their purpose to the rest of the world.
-
An eBusiness Card - Towards this end, a web site is first and foremost the ultimate business card.
Rather than having to carry around a portfolio or try and convey your abilitites to someone on the street or at dinner,
a site owner can just say "go to my site" and provide somebody a safe, easy and interactive way to learn more about them than any flyer or pamphlet could ever provide.
-
Pre screen your clients - Additionally, if you can make your site interesting enough and "findable" - lure people to it -
you have the opportunity to create easy business for yourself and an articulate image of whatever service you are trying to fulfill.
If someone is already 90% sold on what you have to offer after looking at your site,
how much easier will the last 10% be once they are talking to you face to face.
-
Save time - Tired of explaining and reexplaining how your products or services work,
how does someone get to your location, what exactly your hours are?
An unexpected benefit most site owners discover is just the savings in time of having to go over mundane information.
A well crafted site will free you from much of the drudgery of owning a business,
allowing you to spend your time on what you are best at.
-
Let's get together - For a free, 1/2 hour, no pressure get together to discuss your web site needs,
please contact me through this link.
Let's build a site (what I'm good at)!
So let's discuss your options and how you want to pursue this dream of having your own website.
My approach tends towards a clean and artistic message.
Some movement on the site, whether a changing picture motif or an animated image,
elevates your site beyond the static, hard to read essay.
-
Clean Art - Pictures are the key to an easy to read site.
Images can at least enhance if not be the point that you're trying to make.
I spend much of my time cleaning up images - removing blemishes or lightening or darkening an otherwise perfect image.
Shadowing is the final touch and has the subtle effect of raising an image off the screen for a nice 3D effect.
All my sites use this extensively.
-
Animation - Movement lifts a site out of the swarm of static, mundane offerings that most sites have, and adds a bit of cinema to the presentation.
There are 2 effective ways to do this:
-
Photos - A changing picture motif such as is going on the top right of this page allows
you to present something interesting and personal about yourself or your organization.
A viewer will just watch this and learn a lot about you just by seeing what images you like to present.
-
Movies - Almost all of my sites use animated art, such as the waterfall going off intermittently on the top left.
Animations such as these can take time to do well,
but add a touch of class and a living quality to a site.
-
Database work - Though I fully enjoy web development,
I am first and foremost a programmer.
Being able to provide web database work allows me to create a true business component for my customers.
This can include:
- A Shopping cart - For full and automated access to your products.
- A Mailing List - To allow periodic contact with your customers about added services.
- A Newsletter or Blog - To generate interest and repeat visitors to your site.
-
Easy to work with - I am the easiest person in the world to work with.
I enjoy delivering for my customers something special,
and have no desire to make this a painful, ego filled event.
I am on excellent terms with everybody that I have so far worked with,
and I believe the relationship is a key part to the final outcome of the product.
What's Next?
I know this is a lot to think about. Here's what I would suggest that you to do next.
-
Pricing - Though I can't give you an exact estimate of what your site will take until we discuss it further,
my pricing page will give you an idea of what to expect.
-
How To - My preparation page will show you how to do your part to keep the cost of your site within your budget.
Let's get together!
As I said, I'll provide you with a 1/2 hour free, no pressure, get together where we can discuss your web site needs.
You can leave from this meeting and get back to me later, or you can give me a deposit of $300 and we can start right in.
Many thanks for considering my services!
